I think Tom Ford s bags, plain and simple, are just not very good. Not for the ultra-premium prices, anyway they often look a little cheap to me, like someone designing a bag and really HOPING people think it looks expensive. His handbag line is relatively young, though, so I think there s still plenty of time to recalibrate and command luxury prices on the strength of the full brand s success.

What a pretty bag! An excellent choice, Amanda. The color is versatile, the design is simple yet carries visual interest (especially the clasp), and the price point is quite reasonable. It s interesting that the MbMJ bags are trending toward sleek and sophisticated, while the MJ bags are overpriced,goyard men wallet, over-designed, and under-whelming. Marc Jacobs made a huge mistake when he discontinued his quilted bags in favor of all those grommets, laces, and carpetbag embroidery.
Well Karl does design Fendi, so I can t blame him for borrowing a few ideas. People gotta cut some slack for him, I mean he is in his late 70 s early 80 s and he is designing all of Chanel and the women s wear for Fendi and that is like at least 12 collections every year! Although some of his designs are a bit icky and a few wtf moments, but still I commend him for thinking outside the square considering his age.. Oh and I also forgot he has his own label to design as well year in year out.. Putting it this way, I really admire this man
