I absolutely love this post!! Have been looking at nylon Chanel bags but it s tricky as they usually have bits which leather, especialky where the Chanel is written on the inside. Had no idea about the Givenchy, and maybe I will make the Antigona or tote one of my first big designer handbag purchases! I am against animal cruelty but sometimes it is hard to imagine never owning that dream Chanel 2.55 or Birkin (dream bag!). I would love if you did posts like these more often, and wish more designers offered a faux leather version even if a bit more limited or even more expensive, it doesn t matter,buy goyard, I would be willing to work for it as long as I don t have to feel guilty and a horrible person about it :)
Taki, I know some of the bags are made in china, but they re their own factories and not a sweat shop. Nothing compared to Coach at least their leather is Italian leather. Who know where Coach leather is from!?!? Most of Mulberry s collection is made in UK, Turkey and Italy.
A lot of my friends have kids, and in the past few months, a few of them have welcomed new babies. For a new mom (or an experienced mom with a new infant), finding the right diaper bag is a must, but it seems like quite the feat. There are so many amazing designers, but there aren\'t a ton of great baby bags.
I only have 1 Coach bag, and it s from over 4 years go, so I am definitely not one of the long-time Coach fans who buy consistently from the brand. I have always respected and appreciated the brand and its bags though. Having said that, my opinion would clearly be of an outsider and my view is that the new bags look quite interesting. I am even contemplating getting one of their new bags. I can certainly understand how some long-time Coachies might not be taken with the new direction/designs though.
I really do think that it would be too much. Apart from the myriad of reasons already pointed out by the other commenters (1. they might outgrow it, 2. they don t know the value of it, 3. they might lose it, etc.), I also think the money will be much better spent elsewhere: a whole library of books, a trip to Disneyland/world, ballet lessons, gymnastics class, swimming lessons, a cupcake making party with her friends. I could go on forever and ever. Plus, you ll be remembered for being the coolest godmother EVER for making her dreams of becoming the next Gabby Douglas come true.
I may be in the minority for thinking this way, but Chanel s aesthetic seems to taking a nosedive in the last few seasons.. what is w/ that glittery chevron bag?? some of the designs are frankly, tacky, while others make scratch my head at the sanity/judgment of the genius that is Karl Lagerfield. I do appreciate whimsical/creative/innovative/witty designs, but egg and milk carton bags?? SMH -__-
its not true that caviar leather and the bag is indestructible! Really rubbish. My Jumbo Caviar bought from Paris Flagship store already has few stripes across the center of the quilting block because the quilting material inside kind of sink in. It makes the bag look older than its actual age. Quality isnt as good as yrs ago. Lambskin is fine though
