Remember the ol saying: the customer is always right? Perhaps that s only an American meme? At Hermes it s Buyer Beware. This would not have been a story if Hermes had taken the bags back and/or exchanged them no questions asked. I was a Nordy (Nordstrom sales person) for several years. We never asked the reason for a return, we just tried to save the relationship with the customer by being polite and accomodating. Nordstrom valued relationships as well as sales. We needed both to be successful in the long-run. Perhaps Hermes ought to read the Nordstrom sales handbook. It was one-page long, and read, The Customer is Always Right.

If u buy a beautiful bag to put on a shelf, or wear it, just enjoy it. Nobody has to tell you to wear or not, feel guilty or not. When I am 80, if I get to 80, will I give a s**t what anyone thinks? No. Nor should you now. Live and know the choices you make are for you and not to please someone else a stranger even.
Highly recommend the Coach bag if it can still be found. It s beautiful and really well made. Mine is more of a spring bag and in this part of Canada it doesn t get as much use as I d like but still lovely nonetheless and extremely functional. I took it to an outdoor event once and managed to fit a water bottle, wallet, keys and other small things in it and it didn t look stuffed.
There aren t any holes to put the handles through The packaging. My mom was sweet to get the small flap with the packaging for me as a bday gift while tracking in Europe and she actually was going to throw the packaging away.
